As an event organizer and Artist Manager who began my artistic journey in the vibrant streets of Miami, Art Basel 2017 was nothing short of a masterpiece. I had the privilege of assisting in the creation of an experience that brought together the best of fashion, art, and cultural celebration. Curated in collaboration with Anais and Simply Jess, the event became a living canvas where imagination knew no bounds and creativity flourished.
Walking through the gallery spaces, it was surreal to witness the energy and excitement that poured from every installation. Iconic works from Angelonce, Chris Haven, GoopMassta, GraffDummy, GuavaDeArtist, Jake Merten, Jas of Chicago, Visuals By Jess and so many more adorned the walls. These weren't just pieces of art they were declarations, bold expressions that left lasting impressions on every guest. One of the most magical discoveries that weekend was Kre8 Artafax, whose breakout pieces were first showcased in our gallery. Today, Kre8 is an internationally renowned artist a testament to the power of visibility and the right platform.
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly Royalty Brown's debut fashion line. As the daughter of music icon Chris Brown, her entrance into the world of fashion was met with the same star power and grace that defines her father's legacy. Her children’s clothing line captivated the crowd, with vibrant designs that spoke to youthful creativity and boundless spirit. Witnessing that moment her pride, her vision I knew I had helped craft something unforgettable.
We didn’t stop there. We transformed the space into a playground for creativity, complete with dance performances from the Hip Hop Kidz that had the entire crowd on their feet. For the younger guests, a whimsical pony ride added a touch of magic, reminding us all that art isn’t just something to observe it’s something to experience.
Our Concept Store brought high fashion directly to the guests, with brands like Alessandra Gold, Bychez Boutique, Jeantrix, Kruzin Footwear, ThesePinkLips, and Woman's Touch Apparel. It was a curated shopping experience that showcased emerging and established designers in a way that blended seamlessly with the artistic vibe of the event.
The "Bodega" installation added that raw, authentic touch that Miami is so well known for. The space buzzed with energy as visitors engaged with interactive installations like Ranagade's Backwoods Installation and Fire Grabba. It was gritty, real, and unapologetically bold everything I love about the Miami art scene.
Of course, no experience would be complete without great food, and Dela Cruz Delights, D.S. Cuisine, and Dope Chef kept our guests fueled and ready to explore every corner of the event.
This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors: Luc BelAire, Harmless Harvest Coconut Water, Core Hydration, and the Baller Alert Foundation. Our community supporters made it even more impactful, showing the power of collective effort and celebration of art.

Art Basel Miami 2017 wasn’t just an event: it was exemplification of the power in collaboration, vision, and passion. From Royalty Brown's inspiring debut to the works of artists like Kre8 who are now making waves globally, I’m honored to have been part of it all. Being able to create these moments, to connect artists with audiences, and to foster experiences that leave lasting impressions, is the reason I do what I do.
